Prospective Graduates: Entry 2013
The Faculty accepts graduate students as candidates for the M.Phil. M.Litt. or Ph.D. degrees. Most graduate students start by doing the M.Phil. This provides them with a solid background for doctoral research. Students who wish to do postgraduate work in philosophy at Cambridge should apply through the Graduate Admissions. Applicants for the M.Phil. must have the equivalent of a good 2i BA Honours Degree (i.e. at least 67%/GPA 3.6) with a minimum of two years' study in Philosophy (10 courses in the USA). Students who already hold a research preparation masters degree in philosophy, in addition to the above, may apply for the Ph.D. or M.Litt.
The deadlines for receipt of completed applications for admission in October 2013 are as follows:
| 16th October 2012 | United States applicants wishing to apply for Gates funding |
| 4th December 2012 | All other overseas and EU (excluding UK) applicants wishing to apply for Gates/CISS/CCT/COT funding. |
| 11th January 2013 | Final deadline for all other applications (including AHRC/CHESS) |
Please note that all your supporting documents and references must be received within two weeks of your application. In particular it is your responsibility to ensure that your referees send in their references by the due date.
