Faculty of Philosophy

Humans are already making a difference on a planetary scale. If we or our creations spread to other worlds, our impact may be greater still, by many orders of magnitude. How should we think about the responsibilities and opportunities that these futures afford? What do we owe our distant descendants?

The speakers incude:

Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta on "What we owe to ourselves"
Professor Rae Langton on "The end of life"
Lord Martin Rees on "Life in a cosmic perspective"

Chaired by Huw Price.

This is a free public talk which is part of the Festival of Ideas.
