Cambridge Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) is organising a regular reading group during Lent Term 2025 focusing on underrepresented issues and groups in philosophy. These reading groups are targeted at undergraduate students, with each session led by a graduate student.
Our first two sessions, on Weds 29 Jan and 5 Feb, 3-4pm will discuss readings on the Philosophy of Gender:
- Week 1, Wed, 29 Jan, 3-4pm: “Beyond Binary: Genderqueer as Critical Gender Kind” by Robin Dembroff
- Week 2, Wed, 5 Feb, 3-4pm: “Lived Body vs Gender: Reflections on Social Structure and Subjectivity” by Iris Marion Young
Both sessions will be led jointly by Tatiana Stinikova and Eirini Vryza and will take place in the Postgraduate Common Room.
You are very welcomed to attend if you do not identify as a minority in philosophy. One of the aims of this reading group is to give students greater opportunities to be exposed to a diversity of traditions and topics.
